Northern Virginia, Anne Arundel claim women’s Region 20 Championships

Northern Virginia Community College won the NJCAA Region 20 Division I Women’s Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Hagerstown Community College.  Anne Arundel (Md.) Community College captured the Division III championship.

Howard Community College’s Margaret Niland (DIII) was the first across the finish line with a time of 20:08. Hagerstown's Annie Noffsinger (20:49) was the top finisher in the DI race.

NOVA edged Community College of Baltimore County – Essex by five points.  CCBC-Essex had three runners in the top-five in the Division I results.  AACC was 11 points ahead of Howard to win the DIII championship with four finishers in the top-seven.

The NJCAA Division I Championship is Saturday, Nov. 14, in Fort Dodge, Iowa.  The Division III NJCAA National Championship is on Saturday, Nov. 7, in Holyoke, Mass.
