BEL AIR - Cecil College soccer led 1-0 after 45 minutes of play, but gave up a trio of second half goals en route to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Region 20 Division 1 foe Harford on Saturday afternoon.
The Seahawks stunned Harford early with Josue Hernandez's goal in the 23rd minute.The freshman tucked home a pass across the box fired off by fellow frosh Bent Althoff. Cecil's defense kept things tight over the next 22 minutes and held the hosts off the board heading into the break.
Despite nine second half saves from Finnegan Tome, Cecil could not contain Harford's potent offense. The Fighting Owls finally got on the board in the 57th, then scored again in the 69th minute to take the lead. A late goal in the second off of a restart squashed any hope of a Cecil comeback.
The Seahawks drop to 3-3 on the year after the loss.
