NORTH EAST - Down 2-0 after the first, Cecil College soccer scored three second half goals to defeat Region 20 Division 1 foe Hagerstown on Thursday afternoon.
The visitors did all of their damage midway through the opening half, scoring in the 23rd and 31st minutes. The Seahawks put 10 shots in but just two on target in the first 45 minutes.
Cecil's comeback began early in the second half, as sophomore forward Ronaldo King tucked home a deflected pass just inside the 18-yard box. Three minutes later and the Seahawks tied the game on a Bent Althoff goal off via Jannis Braun's assist.
King reappeared a few minutes later for the game winner, bending a free kick around the Hagerstown defensive wall in the 58th minute to put the Seahawks ahead. Cecil's defense took over from there, allowing just one shot on target for the entire second half.
Cecil now has four wins this season, the most for the Seahawks in their modern era of record keeping (2014 to present). The win is also Cecil's first over Hagerstown since 2017.
