Region 20 Names May Players of the Month

Congratulations to the Region 20 Players of the Month for May, 2023. The Region honored nine student-athletes from five member institutions.

Division I Baseball: Austin Biddle, So., RHP, Harford
Biddle struck out 11 in a complete nine-inning game against Potomac State in the District tournament. He allowed zero runs on two hits while walking two. Earlier in May he struck out four in two relief innings in a win against Hagerstown.

Division II Baseball: JD Robinson, R-Fr., IF, CCBC Essex
Robinson hit .400 in May, totaling eight hits and four RBI in seven games. He drew four walks and had an on-base percentage of .520. In the field Robinson made eight putouts and was involved in two double plays.

Division III Baseball: Elias Nurideen, So., IF, Prince George's
Nurideen recorded at least one hit in all five games for Prince George's during May, finishing with a .421 batting average which included multiple hits in 60% of games. He scored five runs and added five stolen bases against Allegheny County to help capture the Region 20 DIII title.

Division I Softball: no nominees

Division II Softball: no nominees

Division III Softball: Amanda Dailey, So., IF, Butler County
Dailey repeated on the WPCC All-Conference team and led the Pioneers to the WPCC and Region 20 DIII titles in May. She hit .636 from the leadoff spot in the month with seven hits in four games including three doubles, a triple, and a home run. She drove in four runs and was 6-6 in stolen bases.

Men's Lacrosse: Kollin Vaught, So., FO, CCBC Essex
Vaught won 67% of face offs against two nationally ranked teams in the NJCAA Championship tournament. He went 14-24 against fifth-ranked Howard in the national quarterfinals on May 6, and 15-19 against No. 1 Harford in the national semifinals on May 13. He totaled 16 groundballs and an assist in two games.

Women's Lacrosse: Lyndsey Miller, Fr., M, AACC
Miller was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the NJCAA Championships as she scored seven goals and assisted two others in the championship game to lead the Riverhawks to their third national title. In the Riverhawks' three games in May, Miller totaled 20 goals and eight assists, pulling down 14 draw controls. She scored eight goals and assisted five in the Riverhawks' district championship win over Harford on May 4, and scored five goals and an assist in the rematch in the national semifinals.

Men's Outdoor Track & Field: Rashid Blackmon, Prince George's
Blackmon qualified for six events at the NJCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships, participating in four of them where he finished among the top 13 of runners in each event. Blackmon finished the Championships with new personal bests in each event: 100m (11.12 seconds), 400m hurdles (1:00.28), 4x100m relay (44.97 seconds), and 4x400m relay (3:36.02).

Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Serena Prince, Prince George's
Prince won the triple jump at the NJCAA Championships with a personal record distance of 11.33 meters. Prince's first place jump came after she had already surpassed her previous best of 10.74 meters earlier in the day, which ranked second in the country at the time.

Golf: Troy Loughry, So., Butler County
Loughry medaled for the second-straight year at the Region 20 DIII Championships, winning the event by four strokes with a two-day score of 147. He led the Pioneers to their second-straight team title and a bid to the NJCAA DIII Golf Championships. The All-American was in second place by one stroke (73, +2) after the first day of play but secured the win with a birdie on the 18th hole on day two, finishing with a 74 (+3) in the final round.
