Erie Community College topped Allegany College Maryland in a 7-6 nail biter on Sunday. A double play put the Kats on the board in the bottom of the first inning before Allegany took the lead in the top of the third inning.
The Kats would take the lead back in the bottom of the frame on a Colby Wilson double. They would increase their lead in the fourth inning and hold of the Allegany charge to earn the win.
Aiden McDonald earned the win for the Kats. The starting pitcher gave up eight hits and three runs over fivin innings, striking out five and walking two. Mike Birkhimer collected the save.
Erie accumulated nine hits in the game. Garrett Wilson, Vincent Grazioplene, Isaac Duva and Ronan Glassford each had two hits.
The Kats will close out the regular season on Monday with a pair of games SUNY Niagara. First pitch is at 2:00 pm.
