Cougars Drop Two on Final Day in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC… The Genesee Community College Cougars dropped their final two games during their spring break trip to Myrtle Beach, falling to Potomac State College of WVU by the scores of 9-0, and 9-1.

In the first game, Gillian Flint, Erin Capotelli, Emily Kams, and Jaclyn Guzdek each had hits for the Cougars as they struggled against Potomac's Shyann Farris, who threw a complete game four hitter. Emily Kams took the loss for Genesee, giving up six runs and seven hits over three innings. Sam Tatarski gave up three runs on five hits over her two innings of work.

In the nightcap, Genesee was able to score a run as Kelsey Arliss had a sacrifice fly to score Emily Kams in the bottom of the third inning. Brittany Cole pitched for Genesee and gave up nine runs and 14 hits.

Genesee (1-7) looks to get on the winning track at home on Thursday, March 28 as they host Onondaga Community College to open NJCAA Region III play. First pitch is scheduled for 3pm.
