The Hudson Valley Community College softball team dropped its final two games of the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic on Thursday afternoon in Myrtle Beach, SC.

GAME ONE: WVU Potomac 9, Hudson Valley 3 (Final)

The Vikings offense couldn't keep up with WVU Potomac, a NJCAA division 2 program, as they collected only four hits and scored three runs, a stark difference from the day before when the Vikings combined to score 13 runs on 22 hits.

Mackenzie Kawczak led the way for the Vikings offense as she finished the day 2-for-3 at the plate. Nadia Hotaling went 1-for-2 at the plate and drove in the Vikings only RBI.

In the pitching circle, Reegan Mullen pitched well against a quality WVU Potomac program, tossing five innings and allowed five runs on six hits with three walks and five strikeouts. Kaitlin Neumeister closed out the final inning, allowing four runs on one hit and four walks.

GAME TWO: CC of Rhode Island 3, Hudson Valley 2 (Final)

In the final game of the day, the Vikings fell short in their effort to avenge their earlier loss this week to CC of Rhode Island. The Vikings out-hit Rhode Island and Moira Collins kept the Rhode Island offense in check for the majority of the game. She threw six innings and allowed just three runs (one earned) on four hits with zero walks and six strikeouts.

At the plate, the Vikings were led by Angelise Montanez and Grace Harris, who both recorded extra-base hits on the day. Harris connected on a 1-1 pitch for an RBI double in the top of the sixth inning to score Montanez, who led the inning off with a double to left field. Harris would later score in the inning on a sacrifice fly by Anna Siter.
