Seahawks Cruise Past Baltimore City for Second Conference Win

The Cecil College men's basketball team cruised to an easy 99-53 victory over the Panthers of Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) on their home court on Wednesday night. The Seahawks improved to one game over the .500 mark to 6-5 and remain unbeaten against Maryland JUCO opponents while BCCC fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Sophomore guard, Jacob Falko, got out to a hot start and scored the Seahawks' first six points off three made lay ups while helping his team hold the Panthers scoreless in the opening minute and a half of play. Cecil College stayed hot by scoring their most points in a first half and allowing the least points by an oppenent so far this season with a haltime lead of 50-19. In the first twenty minutes of action, the Seahawks shot and impressive 46.2% from the floor and 72.2% from the foul line compared to the Panthers' 23.3% and 40%.

Cecil College opened the second half with a made lay up by Justin Cohen and eventually extended their largest lead to 47 points at the 4:09 mark to secure an easy 99-53 victory over BCCC.

Four different Seahawks' players tallied double-digit points including Jacob Falko going 10-11 from the floor and 2-2 from the foul line for a game-high 22 points. McKale Williams added 15 points followed by Diere Hodges with 13 points and George Davey with 11 points and nine rebounds. Freshman guard Matthew Pearson contributed a season-high eight points while dishing out five assists. Freshmen O'Dell Dickerson and Diere Hodges combined for seven caused turnovers in the win.

Cecil College men's basketball will return to action when they travel to Chesapeake College on Friday, December 6 for a MD JUCO and NJCAA Region XX DII match-up. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Wye Mills, Md.
