WOLFPACK COMPLETE MARYLAND ROAD TRIP WITH 3-2 LOSS AT ALLEGANY

CUMBERLAND, Md. - The Westmoreland County Community College volleyball team completed its two-day road trip through Maryland Thursday with their closest match of the season, taking Allegany College to five sets before falling 3-2 (21-25, 27-25, 26-24, 12-25, 11-15).

It was the best statistical match of the season for every Wolfpack player against Allegany. Freshman Haley Kolar narrowly missed a triple-double after totaling 10 kills, 16 digs and nine aces. Team-high honors in kills went to Anna Edmonds, who pounded down 14, while Arianna Matrone finished with seven kills, eight digs, three blocks and two aces. The attack ran through setter Morgan Brown, who set a season-high with 21 assists and she also chipped in three kills and three digs.

Also contributing in the match was Julia Jumper with three kills, three digs and one ace and Jaquie Thompson, who brought up six digs and served one ace.

in the first match of the trip, the Wolfpack lost 3-0 at Howard Community College Thursday night. Kolar finished with three kills and Brown had four assists and four digs.

Westmoreland is slated to play its final two matches of the season this coming week, both against WPCC rival Pitt-Titusville. The Wolfpack will travel to Titusville on Monday night, with UPT coming to Westmoreland on Thursday night in the final home match of the year for the Wolfpack.
