MCHENRY, MD – Bri'ana Oliver recorded 22 points and 7 rebounds for AACC as they lost to Garrett College 83-61, in MD JUCO women's basketball action. Garrett improves to 4-6 in the conference and 12-9 overall as AACC is now 1-9 in the conference and 4-16 overall.
The host Lakers jumped out to a 20-12 lead after one quarter but the Riverhawks kept it close through two - trailing by only 3 points with the score 39-36 at halftime. It was Garrett's dominating 3rd quarter that gave them the advantage to help lock in the victory as the Lakers scored 27 of their 83 total points while holding the Riverhawks to only 10.
Mary Ajoh Kuch sits at the top of the conference leader board for rebounds, averaging 12.4 rebounds per game. Alongside her 4 points, Kuch grabbed 18 rebounds in the loss to the Lakers.
The Riverhawks hit the road again for their next match-up, facing the Nighthawks of Northern Virginia Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
