Cardinals Lose their Second Straight against Chesapeake

Wye Mills, MD – The Catonsville Cardinals dropped a close game against Chesapeake College, losing by a score of 92-82. It was an efficient night for the Cardinals, shooting just under 60% from the field as a team. However, they couldn't overcome the physicality of Chesapeake.

Catonsville received an impressive performance from Micah Morgan, who finished with 26 points on 7-9 shooting from the field. It was a great all-around effort from Morgan who also added seven assists and four steals. Other notable performers included Wendall Tomlin and Karris Scott, who both finished with 16 points.

The Chesapeake Skipjacks had a very balanced attack, leading to all five of their starters finishing in double digits. Willie Jones had a huge game for Chesapeake, tallying 18 points and 16 rebounds. The difference in this game was the rebounding for the Skipjacks. They dominated the boards, outrebounding the Cardinals 39 to 25, including 11 to three on the offensive glass.

Despite the score, there was a lot to like from the Cardinals. The shooting efficiency was impressive, and they limited themselves to just 9 turnovers as a team.

With the loss, Catonsville fell to 13-9 on the season. Meanwhile, Chesapeake improved to an impressive 20-4 record. The Cardinals will hit the road once again for their next game against Hagerstown Community College on Friday.
