Panthers hold on for 6 point victory over the Raptors

The Lady Panthers battled from being down 7 points to start the 4th quarter to beat Montgomery College (Maryland) Raptors 79-73.

In a game in which Montgomery had 18 offensive rebounds and 15 more shots than the Lady Panthers, it was the Lady Panthers who came out on top.  Palm Beach took a 42-36 lead into halftime.  The Raptors came out on fire in the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Lady Panthers 26-13 to lead 62-55.  But the Panthers returned that same energy in the 4th to outscore the Raptors 24-11 in the 4th.

It was a game that the Lady Panthers did everything they could in the last minute to keep the Raptors in the game.  Palm Beach State went 0-4 from the foul line in the final minute, but held the Raptors to 0 points in that same stretch to preserve the lead.

Andrea Torres had her second straight 20+ point performance has she had 23.  Daijia Lopez had a career high 20 points, while Ashley Thornton and Athaliah Brown both added 10 points.

The Panthers finish up the New Year Panther Holiday Classic going 2-0.
