Catamounts Battle with Harford

Potomac State took on the Harford Owls in a doubleheader. The Catamounts took both games, but not without a fight from the Owls.

 

After a very exciting game 1, Potomac state would come out on top, 11-10.

In a game that saw 5 lead changes and a lot of scoring, Potomac State would eventually come out on top. Harford would take a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, before Potomac state would respond with four runs of their own and taking the lead heading into the second inning. In the third inning, the Owls took a 6-4 lead. Then, yet again, Potomac State would take a 7-6 lead. In the fourth inning, Harford tied the game at 7, then The Catamounts retook the lead again in the bottom of the inning. Again, in the fifth inning, the Owls took a 10-9 lead. In the bottom of the seventh, the Catamounts were able to tie the game, then score again to win the game 11-10. Charity Wolfe pitched 5 innings allowing 10 runs on 13 hits and striking out 3. Chloe Greise came in for the final two innings to close out the game. The bats were rolling for the Catamounts. Alexa Shoemaker and Jamie Kelly each Doubled. Kelly and Emily horn each homered and Shoemaker homered twice. RBIs came from Shoemaker (4), Kelly (3), Horn (2), and Braylee Corbin with one. 

 

Game 2, the Catamounts rolled to a 16-4 win. 

Potomac State carried on the momentum from game 1 and pounded out 17 hits in the win. Kelly, Corbin, and Courtney Adams each doubled. Shoemaker had another two homeruns. Taylor Lamp had 3 RBIs, Shoemaker with 8, Kelly with 2, and Corbin, Greise, Adams each with one. Greise went all five innings in the circle, allowing only 4 runs on 8 hits and 3 strikeouts.
