NCCC protects home floor at Holiday Classic

Host Niagara County Community College earned a pair of solid NJCAA Div. II victories at this past weekend's Thunderwolves Holiday Classic. The T-Wolves, ranked No. 15 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 13-0 overall. Next up is a road date at SUNY Ulster. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. Friday. 

Niagara CCC 74, CCBC Catonsville 69

N-Trip was 13-of-26 from the 3-point line as they knocked off the Cardinals, who had lost just once entering the contest. Sophomore Tessa Schuey scored a career-high 22 points, while classmate Faith Alessandra added 11 points. Freshman Mia Little stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, nine assists, six rebounds and four steals. 

Niagara CCC 83, Wayne County CC 48

The Thunderwolves had a balanced attack as they handled the Wildcats' relentless pressure. Alessandra scored a game-high 18 points, freshman Rachel Kamrowski netted 16 and Schuey added 15. Freshman Casey Mahony was strong inside, finishing with 13 points and nine boards in the win.
