Men's Basketball Snaps Skid With Win Over Penn Highlands

ARNOLD, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College men's basketball team defeated visiting Penn Highlands, 95-65, Saturday afternoon at Jenkins Gym. The win snaps a four-game losing streak for the Riverhawks, who were led by 20 points from Davon Jones.

Jones added three steals, a pair of assists and two rebounds while shooting 50% from three-point range. Jamar Young scored 19 points to go with six boards, two assists and two steals. Keith Wyatt, Jr. and Tayvon Williams each scored 12 points.

The Riverhawks outscored the Black Bears, 44-12 in the paint, and created 30 points off of 20 Penn Highlands turnovers. AACC recorded a season-high 16 steals in the game, led by four from Wyatt, Jr. Almost one third of the Riverhawks' points came from the bench.

Penn Highlands (1-6) led by as many as seven in the early goings, but AACC (3-5) pulled away using a 23-3 run late in the opening frame.

The Riverhawks entered the second half with a 49-28 lead in hand, only to extend it for the 95-65 final, led by 14 second-half points from Young.
