Offense Explodes, and Defense Pitches a Shutout

Westmoreland County Community College Baseball defeated WPCC, and Region 20, rival Butler County Community College 16-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a two hit shutout.
 
Westmoreland was boosted by Tanner Colflesh who went 4-for-4 at the plate.  Colflesh singled in the second, singled in the third, doubled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.
 
The Wolfpack got things started in the first inning.  Alex Borges doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Westmoreland then notched five runs in the sixth inning.  Colflesh, Gavin Cancio, Logan Short, and Albaugh each drove in runs during the inning.
 
Travis Keister earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Westmoreland. The southpaw lasted six innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out 14.  Jake Albaugh threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
 
Westmoreland saw the ball well, racking up 17 hits in the game.  Colflesh, Cancio, Borges, and Dom Koch each racked up multiple hits for the Wolfpack.  Colflesh went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Westmoreland in hits.  Westmoreland commit a single error.
 
The Wolfpack will return home on Wednesday for a doubleheader against CCBC Catonsville at 1pm.
