MANOR COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL DEFEATED BY FREDERICK COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN REGULAR SEASON AND HOME FINALE

JENKINTOWN, PA—Frederick Community College (10-15 overall) sophomore guard/forward Juwan Burnett led the Cougars with 37 points as they defeated the Manor College Blue Jays (12-13), 106-96, in a non-conference match-up.

Frederick led at halftime, 54-43.  Burnett paced both teams with 17 points.  Sophomore guard CJ Williams scored 12 and freshman guard Christian Knox added 11 points for the Cougars.  Sophomores Robert Tucker (forward/center) (Philadelphia, PA/Paul Robeson) and Taleek Anderson (guard/forward) (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) led the Blue Jays with 10 points each.  Manor outscored Frederick, 53-52, in the second half.  Burnett and Manor sophomore guard Anthony Rodriguez (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) led with 20 second-half points each.  Sophomore guard Jewel Funchess (Philadelphia, PA/Olney) added 10 points for the Blue Jays.  Sophomore forward Domantas Sakickas contributed 10 points for the Cougars.

The loss broke the Blue Jays three-game overall and home winning streaks.

Manor set single-season game highs in points (96) and overall field goal attempts (95).  They tied a season single-game best with 56 rebounds.  The Blue Jays have pulled down 50 or more rebounds in a game seven times this season.

Individual Statistical Leaders: Rodriguez led the Blue Jays and both benches with a season-high 26 points.  Tucker contributed 17 points and paced Manor with 13 rebounds and two blocked shots.  Funchess added 15 points.  Anderson scored 14 points and led Manor with four steals.

Including Burnett, five Cougars scored in double-figures.  Williams added 21 points.  Knox contributed 13 points.  Sackickas and freshman point guard Devon Knaub scored 14 and 10 points off the bench, respectively, for Frederick.

Scoring 70 or More Points: Manor is 9-7 overall (6-5 at home) when scoring 70 or more points.  They are 6-3 overall (5-2 at home) when scoring 80 or more points.  Manor is 1-2 overall (1-2 at home) when scoring 90 or more points.  The won-loss records does include November 9, 2019.

Trailing at Halftime: The Blue Jays are 5-12 overall (1-5 at home) when trailing at halftime this season. 

Home Sweet Home: Manor finished the regular season 7-5 overall at home this season.  This is the seventh time in the previous eight seasons that the Blue Jays finished with a 0.500 or better overall home record.  Manor is 80-59 overall at home since joining the NJCAA for the 2008-2009 season.  The Blue Jays are 55-23 overall at home since the 2014-2015 season.

Series Record: The Blue Jays are 2-2 overall (1-1 at home) versus the Cougars.  Manor is 9-14 (6-6 at home) versus Region XX schools since joining the NJCAA for the 2008-2009 season.

Next Game: Manor will play in the Region XIX Division II Postseason Tournament for the sixth time, including five in the previous six seasons.  The Blue Jays are 3-5 overall (1-2 at home, 1-1 on the road, and 1-2 at neutral sites) in this Postseason Tournament.  Manor was the 2016 Postseason Tournament Runners-Up.  They previously played on March 6, 2018, losing at home to SUNY-Ulster, 105-93, in the First Round.
