Catamounts too strong for Anne Arundel

Keyser, W.Va. – The Potomac State College women's first quarter overwhelmed the visiting Anne Arundel Community College Riverhawks Friday night at Lough Gymnasium. The Catamounts held a 35-9 lead after the first 10 minutes and AACC would never recover.

Potomac State extended their lead to 55-14 at halftime. They held a 73-28 advantage after three quarters and closed out the game with a 96-35 final score.

Potomac State head coach Larry Kruk credited his team's all-around performance, "It was a great effort from the start, great intensity. We executed well offensively and on the defensive side we forced a lot of turnovers."

The Catamount defensive effort forced the Riverhawks into 24 turnovers and held them to 9 made field goals on 72 attempts for a 12.5 field goal percentage. 

Jalynn Montgomery led PSC's offensive onslaught with a game-high 20 points on 9 of 19 shooting and 2 of 2 from the free throw line. Montgomery also snuck in five steals defensively. Four of her Catamount teammates also hit double figures on the night: Alexis Turner (15), Danijah Allen (15), Joy Agwramgbo-Noe (14) and Marleigh Bays (11).

Agwramgbo-Noe had a game high 12 rebounds and contributed three blocked shots for the Catamounts.

Anne Arundel's leading scorer was Autumn Foster-Fields with 11 points.

Potomac State College (2-1) returns to action Friday, Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. at Butler County Community College at Butler, Pa. This will be the second meeting between PSC and BCCC. Potomac State won the first meeting 90-47 at home on Nov. 11.
