ARNOLD, Md. – The Howard Community College men's soccer team scored in the 79th minute to defeat host Anne Arundel Community College, 1-0, in NJCAA Region 20 action at Siegert Field Tuesday afternoon.
AACC keeper Michael Capo made six saves in the match, including all five shots he faced in the first half. The Riverhawks outshot the Dragons, 21-15, throughout the game and forced the Howard keeper to make four saves in each half.
The Riverhawks had many chances throughout the game, but just couldn't finish.
AACC recognized its six sophomores prior to the game: Leyton Calzado, Mason Switzer, Malik Williamson, Matthew Sutter, Daevon Lionel, and Dominic Breeden.
The Riverhawks wrap up the regular season Tuesday, October 17, in a 7 p.m. game at Montgomery College.
