Bench Leads in Men's Hoops Win over BC3

ARNOLD, MD – Every member of the Anne Arundel Community College men's basketball team scored at least five points in the Riverhawks' 120-61 win over visiting Butler County Community College Sunday afternoon at Jenkins Gym.

AACC's bench accounted for 78 points, as five of six reserve players netted double digit point totals. Michael Sullivan led the way with a career high 20 points in just 16 minutes. Freshman Braeden Cavey added a career-best 19 to go with seven rebounds.

The Riverhawks were hot from beyond the arc again, sinking a season-high 18 three-pointers in the game. Sullivan hit four of eight three-point attempts.

AACC jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead, but BC3 used a pair of free throws and a three-pointer to tie it up in a one-minute span. A second three gave the Pioneers their only lead of the game, after which AACC went on a 15-3 spree to retake the lead for good.

The Riverhawks led 63-36 at the break and maintained the distance for the rest of the game, surpassing the 100-point mark with 10 minutes left to play.

AACC turned the ball over just 13 times and generated 35 points off of BC3's 26 turnovers. The Riverhawks dominated the paint with 44 points to BC3's 16.

The Riverhawks return to action Saturday, December 14 in a 3 pm MDJUCO game against Prince George's.
