Men’s Soccer Drops To DI Harford On The Road

Prince George's Community College men's soccer surrendered two goals apiece in each half against Harford Community College on Thursday, September 29th, losing to the Fighting Owls on the road, 4-0.

Playing against their second straight Division I opponent and for the first time in nearly ten days due to weather, the Owls came out slow against Harford who were able to net their first goal in the 32nd minute. Four minutes later Prince George's fouled Harford in the box which created a penalty kick opportunity for the Fighting Owls which they capitalized on. Prince George's found themselves defending the remainder of the half as Harford continued to maintain possession and fire off shots towards the Owls keeper Bilal Odeh who kept the deficit at 2 as the first half expired.

Despite ending the first half with an impressive hold on defense, the Owls gave up back-to-back goals just three minutes apart (49', 52') to open up the second half and find themselves down four. The Owls improved their attack down the stretch, recording their first shot in the 65th minute and finishing the contest with 6 total, but were only able to force a Harford save on two of them to seal the 4-0 defeat for Prince George's.

The Owls dropped to 2-4-1 on the year with the loss, but look ahead to their first Division III matchup on Monday when Harrisburg Area Community College visits Largo for a 5 PM start time. Harrisburg's Hawks are travelling from Region 19 and currently hold a 2-3-1 record ahead of a Saturday game before visiting Prince George's on Monday.
