LCCC Men's Basketball Improves to 2-0 with Strong Defense In Westmoreland Tournament Win over Anne Arundel CC, 91-63

November 10, 2017-- The Lorain County Community College men's basketball team -- sparked by the defense of freshman guard Oscar Dorsey -- led the entire game and ran away from Anne Arundel Community College, 91-63, in the opener of the Westmoreland CC Tournament on Friday afternoon. 
 
Dorsey came off the bench to rev up the team's defensive effort and also scored five points in the first quarter.   "We were solid today; everyone played well," Head Coach Marty Eggleston noted.  "Oscar really ignited our defense, and (freshman point guard) Justis Craig turned up the heat with five or six steals," Eggleston added.
 
The scoring was led by sophomore forward Zach Swain with 15 points and sophomore Mike Rell with 14.  Sophomore forward Daniel Lott added nine points.  Freshman forward/center Jovon Jones tallied six points and a team-high nine rebounds while freshman forward Jatee Dudley added six points and six rebounds.  In all, 13 of the 15 players scored for LCCC.
 
"I was proud of how they guarded today; the defense triggered everything," Eggleston commented," Everyone contributed well."
 
The Commodores led 44-25 at halftime behind Rell's 11 first-half points.
 
LCCC takes its 2-0 record into tomorrow's game against Lehigh CC at noon.
