Westmoreland Takes Down Anne Arundel in a Region 20 Conference Game

Westmoreland won another Region 20 conference game as they beat Anne Arundel by a score of 88-84. The wolfpack have played in many close games all season long and this time they came out on top. This improved their overall record to 7-17 and 6-7 at home. 

The wolfpack got out to a fast start as they jumped out to a 14-0 lead at the beginning of the game. They would go up by as many as 23 points at one point in the first half. Nate Papuga was a big reason for the hot start as he made six baskets from downtown. Westmoreland would end up taking a 13 point lead going in halftime with a score of 46-33.

The second half was a different story and showed why there are no easy games in the region 20 conference. Anne Arundel would battle back to eventaully take a 10 point lead with around 7 minutes remaining in the second half. Westmoreland showed their resilence as they would fight back to regain the lead by a score of 75-73 when Ryan Burkart grabbed an offensive rebound and found Colin Masten who made a driving floater with 3:55 left in the game. Westmoreland would secure the win in this thiller of a game when Colin Masten would make both of his free throws with 9 seconds left in the game giving them a 4 point lead. The wolfpack would finish with the 4 point victory. Nate Papuga lead the way for Westmoreland scoring a college career high 22 points and Colin Masten would add 20 points while going 10 of 10 from the free throw line.
