Game Notes

ARNOLD, Md - Coming off a dreadful five game losing streak, the Riverhawks were finally able add to the win column yesterday with a come from behind victory at home against the Owl's of Prince George's Community College. The seven 5th inning runs proved to be too much for the Owl's to overcome as the Riverhawk pitchers allowed only one run in the final four innings.

A strong first two innings Stephen "Caleb" Musco allowed the Riverhawks hot bats to get out to a quick 3-0 lead. The Owl's would tie it up in the top of the 3rd and with AACC losing pitching momentum, PGCC was able to take a 7-5 lead entering the bottom of the 5th.

In the brisk tempatures of Arnold, MD, it was time for the Riverhawks to make their run. AACC added seven runs in the 5th inning behind eight base-on-balls, four wild pithces, a single and a sac-fly. Their patience and discipline at the plate allowed for a courageous comeback and eventual win.

In the top of the 6th, Zachary Rees entered the game and allowed one hit over his three innings pitched, adding two strikeouts and allowing a single hit. Rees did his job, shut the game down. AACC went on to add two more runs in the 7th inning to end the game at 13-8.

Ian Sterling (Clarksville, MD/Riverhill) lead the Riverhawks with three RBI's and two runs scored while Zachary Rees pitched three innings allowing one hit, one earned run and striking out two.
