GAME DAY: Women's Soccer Rally Falls Short in Loss to Anne Arundel CC

Leigh Swietanski (West Deptford), Katie Cave (Williamstown), and Kayla Davila (Buena) each scored goals, but it wasn't enough as the Roadrunner women's soccer came up just short in a 4-3 loss to Anne Arundel (MD) in the Dragon Invitational Sunday in Columbia, MD.

The Roadrunners fell behind twice by two goals, and tried to rally from a 4-2 deificit in the second half. The Runners managed to put heavy pressure on Anne Arundel goalkeeper Sarah Ward, who halted 10 RCSJ shots. Davila's second half goal made it 4-3, but that closed out the scoring.

Allison Gebhart (Delsea) turned back seven shots in defeat for RCSJ Gloucester.
The loss left coach Megan Ruttler's team with a 1-4 overall record. Next up for the Runners will be Region XIX and GSAC rival Union County College on the road Tuesday, September 17, in a 3:30 pm start.
