Cardinals Suffer Eighth Straight Loss to Garrett College

On February 22, the Cardinals women's basketball team faced Garrett College, losing 66-53. 

This loss marks the Cardinals eighth straight loss. After a slow start in the first half, the Cardinals mounted a comeback effort in the second half. The efforts were not enough as they would go on to lose 66-53. 

In the first half, the Cardinals struggled to get their offense going, being down ten points after the first quarter. The Cardinals saw themselves down 13 points going into halftime, 33-20.  

In the second half, the Cardinals offense started to get some rhythm scoring 16 points in the third quarter. The Cardinals also held Garrett College to 13 points in the third quarter. They continued their offensive improvement scoring 17 in the fourth quarter. However, it was not enough to complete the comeback with a final score of 66-53. 

The leading scorer was Destiny Perry (Sparrow Point High School) with 24 points. Kayla Cabbagestalk (Chesapeake High School) recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Amaree McKinght (National Christian Academy) also added 12 points. 

The Cardinals are now 9-13. The Cardinals next game is February 24 at home against Montgomery Community College.
