Tops Roll to Home Opening Victory, 66-42

The Tri-C Women's Basketball team, playing their first home game in almost two years, rolled to a 66-42 victory over Community College of Beaver County Saturday at the Eastern Campus gymnasium.  The win keeps the Tops perfect on the season at 4-0.

After an uneven start, the Tops rolled to a 24-14 first quarter lead and never looked back, leading by as many as 28 points.

The team was led in scoring by Quimari Shelton with 17 points.  LaTaijha Cherry chipped in with 10 while Shiya Clayton had 9.  In all, 9 different players scored for the Tops, proving the depth of the team.

Next up for Tri-C is a trip to Detroit to take on Community Christian, an NJCAA Region XII foe on Wednesday at 5 pm.
