AACC Edged by College of Southern Maryland in close match-up

LA PLATA, MD – Opponents Mike Pegram scored 21 points and Donovan Robinson tallied 19 points during the tight-finished matchup between College of Southern Maryland and AACC.  The MD JUCO men's basketball contest came down to a close end as CSM edged AACC 90-88.

College of Southern Maryland jumped out early scoring 56 to AACC's 45 in the first half but the Riverhawks answered by outscoring them 43-34 in the second half. 

Marcus Dently led AACC with a double-double scoring 35 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, tying his season career high with the 35 points.  Jemeul Brown picked up his second straight double-double during this loss with 14 points and 17 rebounds.  Larry Stevenson also contributed 18 points for the Riverhawks.

AACC shot 51.5%, hitting 35-68 and also 9-19 from behind the arc keeping it close to CSM who shot 56.3% at 36-64 and went 10-20 from behind the arc.  Nearly perfect at the foul line, AACC shot 90% (9-10) to CSM who shot just 53.3% (8-15) at the foul line, but it just was not enough for AACC to come out with a win.

The Riverhawks will travel to play Hagerstown Community College on Saturday, January 16th with tip-off at 3:00 p.m.
