Men’s Basketball overcomes 20-Point Deficit to Complete Sweep of Hagerstown

Catonsville, MD- After a cold first half, the Cardinals strong together a few rallies to beat Hagerstown, 77-73.

After coming off a 10-point loss Sunday, the Cardinals came out ready to fight. However, the first half of the conference contest was less than ideal. With Hagerstown coming out strong to put up a 20-point lead, chances of winning were deemed slim for the Catonsville basketball squad.

Andre McFadden and John McNeal were once again the leading scorers on the evening, with 20 and 19 points, respectively. McFadden would go on to drain three three-pointers and record five assists, while McNeal was 7-11 on field-goals.

Micko Reeves was once again a key player in the matchup, recording 14 points, six assists, and six rebounds. Reeves would also record his 29th steal- which is one of the top in Maryland Juco.

The turning point of the game was mid-way through the second half. Tamaron Hargett, McFadden, and Reeves were all key components as Catonsville strung together a series of field-goals and three-pointers- and capitalized on fouls- that allowed them to catch up to the powerful Hawks offense.

Catonsville looks to improve upon their 5-8 record against the domineering Howard Community College on January 8th.
