Men's Lacrosse Scores Late in Loss at Howard

COLUMBIA, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College men's lacrosse team scored twice in the fourth quarter in a 13-2 loss to Howard Community College Tuesday afternoon in a non-region game.

Sam Barrett and Logan Wheeler each notched unassisted goals in the fourth quarter. Ethan Varani (five goals) and Joe Patti (four goals) led the Dragons.

AACC goalkeeper Parrish Fleming made 17 saves in the game, with 11 coming in the first half.

The Riverhawks were afforded 11 man-up opportunities in the game as the Dragons totaled nine penalties for seven minutes and 30 seconds, but AACC was not able to capitalize on them.

Howard led in groundballs, 41-19, and shots, 62-32. Trevor Murray went 3-for-14 at the faceoff x for the Riverhawks, who finished 3-for-18 on the day.

AACC (3-1) starts a three-game homestand on Friday, March 15, with a 6 p.m. game against Williamson College of the Trades. The Riverhawks then host No. 4 Onondaga at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 17, and Mercer County at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19.
