Catamounts drop season opener to Harford

Potomac State Women's Volleyball opened their 2023 season at home Wednesday evening against Harford Community College.

The Catamounts came out and took the first set 25-23 over the Fighting Owls.  The first set was full of action with 26 kills between both teams and 63 total attempts. It would be a long night of volleyball for the fans as the night went to five complete sets. Set two went to the Owls 15-25 as well as the third set 19-25.  The Catamounts came back in the 4th winning 25-19 which pushed both teams into the 5th and final set.  In the end the Owls ended up victorius, taking the 5th 8-15 and making the final score of the night: Catamounts 2, Fighting Owls 3.

Top contributors for the Catamounts were freshman Emonie Fennel, who had 21 points and 20 kills.  Fellow freshman Brinlee Harris had an impressive .579 kill % with 12 kills on 19 total attempts.  Overall the Catamounts were well matched with the Owls, who recently have dropped from NJCAA Division I to Division II.
