Genesee Edges Out Howard

BATAVIA, NY… The Genesee Community College women's lacrosse team picked up their fifth win of the season by defeating the Howard Community College Dragons 15-10 Saturday afternoon.

Ashley Barclay and Hannah Kirisits each scored five goals to lead the Cougars offense. Other goal scorers for Genesee include a pair by Bri Heers and Rachel Ladd. Riley Marconi also tallied for the Cougars. Ryley O'Mara made seven saves in net for Genesee.

The Cougars enjoyed a 10-2 lead at halftime behind strong play from throughout the lineup. The second half would see the Dragons come back and cut the Cougars lead to five, before Genesee pulled away and eventually would hold the Dragons to the five goal margin of victory.

Genesee (5-3) travels to Monroe Community College Tuesday April 30, at 4pm before hosting Jefferson CC on Sophomore Day Thursday May 2, at 4pm.
