Hawks Volleyball opened at home on September 9th, hosting Frederick CC. Although the team lost in 3 sets to the Cougars, the take away for both coaches and athletes was positivity. Due to circumstances beyond their control, the team experienced an abbreviated pre-season, and came took the court Friday evening with poise and determination. The Cougars won (25-11), (25-17) and (25-22). In her first year as Head Volleyball Coach, Sierra Hill noted the following regarding Friday's match, "Everyone was nervous (including us coaches) but as the sets went on, you could see the girls getting more confident with themselves and their team. By the third set we were really competing, exchanging points with Frederick, just falling short 22-25. I was so proud of our girls for pushing through and staying positive the whole time, and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the season has in store."
