Cardinals Dominate Essex For Second Straight Win
On March 22nd the CCBC Catonsville Cardinals baseball team faced off against rivals CCBC Essex Knights in a doubleheader where the Cardinals would get a big two-win sweep.
In game two vs. CCBC Essex, the Cardinals trailed early by three runs and the offense almost became unstoppable for the Cardinals. Jalen Williams would help his team get on the board in the third inning with a double. Moises Aristy Jr. (Arundel High School) would have himself a great day at the plate going 2-3 with a home run that helped the Cardinals retake the lead going into the fourth. Essex would get two runs in the top of the fourth to make this a back-and-forth matchup. Cardinals would score five runs with RBI singles from Wyatt Moore (West Orange High School) and Pete Howell (Lake Howell High School) in the bottom of the fourth. Putting up six runs in the fifth inning, the Cardinals would jump to a 15-5 lead ending the contest in a mercy rule.
For the Cardinals offense, Moises Aristy Jr. led game two with a 2-3 day and seven RBIs. Pete Howell would go 3-3 with two RBIs and Jalen Williams went 3-4 also with two RBIs.
