Men’s Soccer loses close one against Frederick

Catonsville, MD- Coming off back to back wins, the Cardinals were attempting to extend their streak to three games and hand Frederick their first loss of the season. This would not be the result as the Cougars defeated the Cardinals 4-2 with all six goals coming in the second half.

Luis Alanis led the way for Frederick by scoring the first goal of the game early in the 2nd half and finishing with two on the night. Kevin Correa was a standout for the Cardinals scoring two goals of his own and making a 3-0 game 3-2 with 16 minutes remaining for the home squad to find an equalizer.

In search of a goal in the final minute, the Cardinals were all in the attacking part of the field opening up a counter attack opportunity for the Cougars in which they scored on a breakaway to make it a 4-2 game. This would be the final result as the men's record now stands at 4-5-1 on the year.

The team will look to start a new winning streak as they will be back in action on Friday, September 20th at 6 PM as they travel to play the Harford Community College Fighting Owls.
