Cecil Halts Hagerstown to Earn Sweep

NORTH EAST, Md. - The Seahawks earned their first sweep of a doubleheader this season, besting the Hagerstown Hawks 8-1 in game two.

Cecil's pitching staff looked strong from start to finish, allowing just one hit and one run across seven innings. Dylan Nickle (1-2) started the game and got the win, hurling five strikeouts across five innings. Kyle Stively stepped in and silenced Hagerstown late, facing just seven batters across the final pair of frames.

The Seahawks offense chipped in six hits, but also made good use of Hagerstown's defensive blunders. All eight of the run's Cecil scored were unearned thanks to fielding errors by the Hawks. This included a two-RBI double by Dylan Byler in the third and a three-run homer via Patrick O'Brien in the sixth.

Cecil improves to 3-7 on the year with the victory.
