Owls Offense Opens Up In 4-1 Win At Cecil

The Prince George's Community College men's soccer program finished their regular season away schedule with a victory on Tuesday, October 17th, picking up a 4-1 win over Cecil College to improve to 6-5-1 on the year.

Playing on the road for the third time in as many games, Prince George's struck first in the 18th minute of play when Anthony Garcia assisted on a goal to Muhammad Sallah off a corner kick. Sallah, who plays defense for Prince George's, was moved up for the corner kick and timed his run perfectly to fly in and head the ball past Cecil's keeper, earning his second goal of the season. The Owls remained on the attack for the first half, tallying 16 shots compared to the Seahawks 6, but were unable to add another goal before half as Cecil stayed solid on defense which included 8 saves from their goalie.

The Owls found success early in the second half when Francis Ogbankwa scored back-to-back goals in the 55th and 63rd minute, the latter of which was assisted by Chukuwma Maduwuba. Frank Olom made it 4-0 for Prince George's only three minutes later when Ike Obizuo played a ball across the box to teammate Frank Olom who headed the ball past Cecil's keeper for the fourth time on the day. The Seahawks managed to break the shutout in the 87th after scoring on a well-placed free kick to finish the scoring, 4-1.

The Owls will now host CCBC Essex in their final regular season match of the year on Thursday, October 19th at 5 PM.
