Kevin Makle Shines in Loss to Chesapeake

Catonsville, MD- Sophomore Kevin Makle shot 84.6% (11-13) in Tuesday's loss to Chesapeake.

Despite at one point holding an eight-point lead, men's basketball could not pull together to secure the win in the conference matchup.

In the first half of the contest, the Cardinals were looking sharp. They went 16-28 (57.7%) from the field, 3-7 (42.9%) from the three, and 4-5 (80%) from the line. Catonsville did not want to repeat the mistakes they made during Friday's loss to Anne Arundel, and the first half proved just that. However, coming into the second half, the Cardinals lost their steam. They would drop to (a still decent) 48% from the field, 37.5% from the three, and a lackluster 14.3% from the line. Missed free throws would once again hurt the Cardinals in the end, however with Chesapeake evidently winning by 19, it was not the nail in the coffin this time.

Kevin Makle put out an impressive performance. He scored 25 points and secured 12 rebounds in his efforts. Joacquin Gonzales would tally the second most points on the evening with 14, and Andre McFadden would shoot 50% from the three.

Catonsville looks to climb back into the win column against Garrett College on Saturday, February 1st at 2P.M.
