CCBC PULLS AWAY IN 4TH TO DOWN WOLFPACK

MONACA, Pa. - The Westmoreland County Community College women's basketball team trailed by just three going into the fourth quarter Monday night, but the Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) used a huge final period to pull away for a 79-58 victory.

The Wolfpack took an early 19-14 lead after one quarter, due in large part to seven points from Dymond Crawford and six from Hannah Hempfield. The Titans rallied to take a 35-34 lead at halftime and the advantage grew slightly to 53-50 after three quarters. In the final period, CCBC erupted to outscore the Wolfpack 26-8 and secure the win.

Leading the Westmoreland scoring efforts was Crawford, who dropped in a season-best 21 points. Right behind her was Hempfield with 17 markers and Mackenzie Markle scored 14.

The Wolfpack are now off through their finals week and will return to the floor on Thursday, Dec. 12th in a road match-up at Division II Potomac State, with tip-off slated for 5 pm.
