McNeal Scores 30 on Sophomore Night

Catonsville, MD- As our seven sophomore athletes were honored Tuesday night, forward John McNeal scored 30 points while going 11-18 (61%) from the field.

Our seven sophomores included Aaron Massey (G), Andre McFadden (F), Kevin Makle (F), Kahlil Allen (F), Miles Gaynair (PG), John McNeal (G/F), and Tamaron Hargett (F).

Head Coach Greate White prepared a few words on behalf of his second-year athletes that were presented Tuesday evening:

Aaron Massey: "This small forward has been with the program for a year, appeared in 23 games with his aggressive play on the court being ready to play at all times, maintains a positive attitude, embraces his ability to play defense, lock a man down, and has a funny sense of humor."

Andre McFadden: "This guard has appeared in 19 games this season, with his shivery shifty and Euro stepping moves. He has been with the program for a year, on the season he's averaging 14.6 points a game, and shooting the ball 45% from the field."

Kevin Makle: "This power forward had a short stay with the program this year, coming in at the break of this season and appearing in nine games averaging 13.6 points and 10 rebounds a game. His shooting percentage is a whopping 60%."

Kahlil Allen: "This forward has been in the program for three years and he is full of energy and emotion. He's averaging three points and four rebounds on the season."

Miles Gaynair: "This young man is the floor general, our point guard; he has been with the program for three years and has been a steady leader in this program. He has appeared in 16 games this season and battled through some injuries."

John McNeal: "This small forward has been with the program for three years and has left us with some high-flying moves, monster dunks with his jumping ability, and an unstoppable drive to the basket. He has appeared in 23 games this season, averaging 13.6 points and six rebounds while shooting the ball 45% from the field."

Tamaron Hargett: "This small forward appeared in 22 games averaging 11 points a game and shoot the ball 50% from the field. He has been with the program for three years with his slashing ability, sticky fingers, and high-flying act; it was a pleasure coaching this young man."

CCBC Catonsville and Coach Greate White were honored to have these athletes apart of the program, no matter how long. They will be missed!

Despite dropping the contest to the unstoppable Cecil College (22-5, 12-0 conf.), the Cardinals remain optimistic as their season is drawing to a close. They will travel to Harford College on Monday, February 24th at 7:00PM.
