SUNY Niagara won a pair of non-conference games in snowy Maryland this past weekend. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 19 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 18-2 overall. The T-Wolves return to action at 1 p.m. Saturday for their conference opener - at home vs. Monroe Community College.

The Wolves shot 54 percent from the field and had five players in double figures. Sophomore Krystal Smith had 18 points and eight rebounds, freshman Isabella Karabetsos finished with 15 points and five assists and sophomore Makayla Thomas added 13 points, four boards and four assists. Also for SUNY Niagara, freshman Mackenzie Owens contributed 12 points and five rebounds and sophomore Anaya Smith chipped in with 11 points and eight boards.
SUNY Niagara 87, Hagerstown CC 40
Anaya Smith put together a strong performance, finishing with 22 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots. Owens netted 17 points off the bench, Krystal Smith had 16 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks and freshman Atarah Walker added a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards. The Thunderwolves forced 35 turnovers in the victory.
