Cardinals Drop Doubleheader Against Bryant and Stratton College

Virginia Beach, VA – The Cardinals lost both games of their doubleheader on Monday against Bryant and Stratton College. It was a tough day for Catonsville, who lost 10-2 and 11-3.

Game 1

The offense for Catonsville couldn't get anything going until the fifth inning where they got two runs on the board. The biggest offensive contributors were Alana Watts and Ava Blum, who each got on base three times. Watts had three more hits, bringing her total to 13 hits in the first five games of the season.

Jada Kezema had a great day for Bryant and Stratton, holding down the Cardinals bats. She threw 5.1 innings allowing seven hits and two runs, yet neither of them were earned. She also went one-for-one with an RBI single as well.

Game 2

Game 2 was more of the same for Catonsville. The offense was held in check, but Alana Watts had another great game. She added three more hits in Game 2, bringing her total to six in the doubleheader. She also scored two runs.

The pitching was great again for Bryant and Stratton, with Emma Cardenas throwing all five innings of the game. She allowed just three runs (two earned) while giving up seven hits. The defense was great behind her, recording just one error. Aurora Kennedy led the Bryant and Stratton offense out of the lead off spot, driving in four runs with two hits.

Catonsville continues their road trip on Tuesday with a doubleheader against Richard Bland College.
