Williamson Tops Men's Lacrosse

ARNOLD, Md. – Visiting Williamson College of the Trades topped the Anne Arundel Community College men's lacrosse team, 13-5, at Siegert Field Friday, March 15. Sam Barrett and Kyle Barkley each scored twice for the Riverhawks (3-3).

Logan Wheeler added an unassisted third quarter goal for AACC. Parrish Fleming made 17 saves, including nine in the second quarter.

Williamson's Matt Dickinson led all scorers with seven goals and an assist. The Mechanics' keeper, Jack Welsh, made 14 saves.

Back-to-back goals from Barrett in the first quarter erased a Williamson one goal lead, but the Mechanics used a four-goal run spanning into the second quarter and never trailed after that.

Barkley netted an unassisted goal to break up the Mechanics' spree midway through the second quarter, but Williamson responded with three in a row.

Wheeler picked up his unassisted tally midway through the third, after which Williamson extended its lead with three-straight.

Barkley capped the scoring for AACC early in the fourth quarter for his first two-goal game of the season.

Jack Schiavone recorded three caused turnovers and three groundballs, and went 2-for-9 at the faceoff x. Trevor Murray went 4-for-7 at the x in limited action, and Barkley finished 1-for-5.

Neither team was successful with the man advantage; Williamson had three opportunities to AACC's six.

The Riverhawks continue their home slate facing No. 4 Onondaga Sunday, March 17 at 11 a.m.
