Wolfpack Defeated by Penn State-Altoona JV

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - The Westmoreland County Community College men's basketball team had five players score in double figures, but a hot-shooting Penn State-Altoona JV team hit 15 three-pointers on their way to a 131-93 victory Monday night.

The Wolfpack were witing striking distance late in the first half, trailing by eight, before an 11-8 spurt by the Lions gave the visitors a 57-41 lead at intermission. Altoona then erupted in the second half by canning 10 of their 15 threes to pull away for the victory.

Westmoreland finished the game with its second-highest point total of the season. Leading the scoring was Jared Valenti with 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Coming in with 16 markers as well as eight rebounds was Dylan Bubarth. Cam McKinney hit for 12 in the defeat and Travis McCoy notched a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
