The Bryant & Stratton - Ohio Bobcats kicked off their 2025 baseball season with a thrilling 9-5 road victory over the CC of Allegheny County. The Bobcats, showcasing a mix of veteran talent and promising newcomers, came through with big hits and solid pitching to open the year on a high note.
The Bobcats' offense was powered by home runs from Brody Puchmajer and Darius Ensley. Puchmajer launched a towering shot early in the game, while Ensley followed suit with a crucial homer later on to help extend the Bobcats' lead.
On the mound, Max Wager delivered a dominant performance, earning the win after tossing 5 innings, striking out 8, and allowing just 3 hits. His poise and control kept the Allegheny County bats at bay throughout his outing. In relief, Cooper Villereal came in to close the game, picking up the save with a strong finish to seal the victory for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats also saw several freshmen make an impact at the plate. Hudson Gerken, Nico Reach, Gavin McLane, and Gianni Covelli all earned their first career college hits in the win, providing a glimpse of the future for the program.
