Cardinals Fall to Blue Jays Despite Strong Effort

Catonsville, MD- On Sunday afternoon, CCBC Catonsville hosted the Manor College Blue Jays in a non-region contest.  Midway through the first half, the Cardinals were trailing by a margin of 27-10, one that seemed daunting. However, a strong effort by Micko Reeves and Joaquin Gonzalez allowed Catonsville to jump to a half-time score of 31-37.

The contest from then on out would be neck-and-neck, however the Cardinals would never edge out a lead in the second half. Manor's Robert Tucker would prove himself a dominant shooter, as he scored 20 points and snagged 12 rebounds. With a few hot runs by Manor, they would eventually pull away from the Cardinals to obtain their 12-point lead.

Reeves led the way for Catonsville, putting up 20 points (3-6 from the three), five assists, and four steals. Tamaron Hargett and John McNeal would be right behind him with 15 and 14 points, respectively. McNeal would also snag nine rebounds, and Kim Brown, Jr. would post eight.

With a 30.9 field goal percentage, the Cardinals struggled to find the net in Sunday's matchup. They are looking to improve upon their 4-8 record on Tuesday, December 17th against Hagerstown Community College. The game will begin at 7PM, respectively.
