The Owls men's soccer team returned to Largo for their first home game in nearly two weeks on Tuesday, September 17th, hosting Allegany College of Maryland in a rain-filled battle that ended in a disappointing 2-2 draw for Prince George's.
Entering with a 4-1-1 record and looking to get back into the win column following a tie in their last outing the week prior, the Owls welcomed Allegany who was in search of their first conference win of the year. Prince George's threatened early on which has been their recipe to success thus far, striking first in the 28th minute and again in the 30th with a pair of goals by freshman Zico Tesheira, both assisted by teammate Abdulsalam Osman. The Trojans responded with a 42nd minute goal off a deflected shot that got by Owls goalkeeper Jairo Caceres and send teams into the break with a one-goal difference.
Prince George's controlled the tempo for much of the second half, firing off nine shots compared to six for the Trojans while also taking three corner kicks to Allegany's zero. Unable to capitalize on any of their attacks and with time ticking away, Allegany regained possession with less than two minutes left after saving another Owls shot. The Trojans then managed to work the ball into Owls territory and score on a corralled ball in front of Prince George's goal. The final minute ticked away with no true threat on goal to finalize the tie, 2-2.
The Owls outshot the Trojans 23-12 on the day, putting 13 on frame, and won the corner kick battle, 7-1, in the draw.
The Owls stay put for their next few games as part of a four-game home stand with 20th ranked D1 opponent Montgomery College visiting Largo on Thursday, September 19th for a 2 PM kickoff.
