Big Night From Arc Not Enough in Wolfpack Loss at CCAC

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Westmoreland County Community College men's basketball team knocked down 21 three-pointers Friday night, but it wasn't enough to overcome foul trouble and an equally hot-shooting CCAC side, as the Wildcats pulled out a 113-98 victory.

The first half saw the Wolfpack bury 10 threes but they faced a 64-52 deficit at the break. Joel Lonigro had three of those treys in scoring 14 points and Cam McKinney's career-high night saw him hit for 12 before halftime.

After intermission, McKinney' scoring kept Westmoreland in the game, as he poured in 21 points in the second half on his way to a career-high 33 points. Lonigro was one of three Wolfpack players to foul out in the second half, as Westmoreland would play the final 10 minutes with only four players on the court. Stepping up in scoring in the final 20 minutes was Jake Biros, who hit a trio of threes and finished the night with 18 points, but the deficit while down a player on the court was too much for the Wolfpack to overcome.

A total of five Westmoreland players scored in double figures, as joining McKinney, Biros and Lonigro was Tyler Diggs with 13 and Dan McQuaide with 11.

The Wolfpack are back in action Sunday afternoon with a home game against Region XX foe Prince George's. Tip-off has been moved up to 12 pm after the women's game scheduled to precede it was canceled.
