
Cardinals Struggle in Loss to Seminole State
Sanford, Fla. – The Cardinals lost their fourth straight game to start the season against Seminole State College of Florida. It was a tough game for the Cardinals, who lost this one by a score of 13-0.
Seminole State put this game away early with a three-run first inning and a six-run second inning. There were numerous self-inflicted wounds by Catonsville, who committed four errors in just seven innings.
The pitching struggled for the Cardinals, but the offense also failed to get going. They accumulated just two hits in the entire game, representing their only baserunners.
The Seminole State pitching staff was nearly perfect, starting with Chase Triplett who pitched four shutout innings while allowing just one baserunner. Garrett Caropreso and Colton Sampson finished the game combining for three shutout innings of their own.
The bright spot for the Cardinals was Bryson Prietz, who pitched 2.1 innings allowing just one unearned run. He also struck out three batters and didn't walk anyone.
