Genesee Splits With Dundalk to Open Road Trip

BALTIMORE, MD - The Genesee Community College baseball team moved their record to 6-4 on the season after a convincing 12-0 win over Community College of Baltimore County-Dundalk then a 1-0 heartbreaking loss in extra innings.

In the first game, Tyler Prospero (Batavia Notre Dame) tossed a complete game 3-hitter with 12 strikeouts and one walk. At the plate for GCC, John Faynor went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run and Rodolfo Rodriguez crushed a 3-run home run and scored twice. Also, for Genesee, Eliel Matinez had a hit, stole two bases and scored twice, Jakob MacLeod had an RBI and scored twice while Bryant Fontanez (RBI, run), Jordi Agosto (run) each had hit and Frankie Santiago and Briann Castillo also drove in runs for the Cougars.

In the second game, Jonathon Toro pitched an 8-inning gem, but CCBC scored on a ball in the dirt after a GCC error in the eighth. Toro went eight innings, giving up one single and struck out six with two walks. At the plate, Martinez had two hits while Deion Rosalia, Faynor and Christian Torres had hits.
